Lucid Jiu Jitsu Club Code of Conduct

To ensure a positive and supportive training environment for all members, we have established the following 10 guidelines for our expected code of conduct at Lucid Jiu Jitsu. These principles are designed to promote respect, camaraderie, and personal growth on and off the mats. By adhering to these guidelines, we can cultivate a community where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Let's work together to uphold these standards and create an enriching experience for all!

  1. Respect Everyone

Show respect to instructors, classmates, and staff. Bow before stepping onto the mats, listen when others are speaking, and help each other learn.

  2. Practice Good Hygiene

Keep your uniform clean and fingernails trimmed. Wash your hands and feet before class. Stay home if you're feeling sick to keep others safe.

  3. Stay Safe

Follow instructions carefully and always practice techniques as demonstrated. Never attempt moves that haven't been taught in class. Safety comes first!

  4. Know When to Tap

Tapping is important for your safety. Tap quickly if you feel trapped, uncomfortable, or in pain. Remember, tapping is not a sign of losing—it's a smart way to stay safe. If your partner taps, release them immediately.

  5. Be a Good Sport

Winning and losing are part of learning. Shake hands after each match, thank your partner, and remember that effort is what counts the most.

  6. Listen to Instructors

Pay close attention to the instructors and follow their guidance. If you have questions, raise your hand, and wait for the right time to ask. Jiu Jitsu requires concentration. Try your best to stay focused and avoid playing around or distracting others on the mat.

  7. Be Patient and Persistent

Learning Jiu Jitsu takes time. Stay patient, practice regularly, and keep trying even if things seem difficult. Progress comes with persistence!

  8. Respect the Mat

No shoes, food, or drinks on the mat. Keep the area clean and take care of the club's equipment.

  9. Encourage Each Other

Be supportive and encourage your teammates. If you see someone struggling, offer a kind word or help them understand the technique.

  10. Have Fun and Be Kind

Remember, Jiu Jitsu is about growth, discipline, and friendship. Enjoy the journey, be kind to everyone, and celebrate each other’s achievements!
